University of Santo Tomas
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs access to and use of the College of Education Digital Archive and Repository (CEDAR), the institutional repository of the College of Education at the University of Santo Tomas. CEDAR exists to preserve, provide access to, and promote the scholarly and institutional outputs of the UST College of Education community.
By accessing CEDAR, all users agree to abide by the terms set forth in this policy. Unauthorized or inappropriate use may result in restriction or termination of access.
CEDAR is accessible to:
Administrative access — including submission, metadata management, and record moderation — is restricted to College of Education Library personnel and other authorized repository staff only.
Users may access CEDAR for the following purposes:
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
Copyright in repository content remains with the author(s) or rights holders unless rights have been assigned by separate agreement. By depositing work in CEDAR, authors grant the University of Santo Tomas a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to preserve, display, and disseminate the work under the approved access terms.
Items in CEDAR may be made available under Creative Commons licenses, institution-specific access terms, embargoes, or all-rights-reserved conditions. Users must comply with the rights statement and license displayed on each item record. In the absence of an explicit open license, reuse beyond fair use requires permission from the rights holder.
CEDAR metadata records are maintained to support academic discovery and citation. Reuse of metadata must preserve attribution and must not misrepresent the repository record or the identity of the original authors.
Authorized submitters are responsible for ensuring that:
Content found to be in violation of submission standards may be flagged, restricted, or removed without prior notice, pending review by repository administrators.
Use of CEDAR — including search activity, page visits, and download events — may be logged for security, analytics, and service improvement purposes in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Repository staff are expected to avoid exposing unnecessary personal information through public-facing interfaces. For full details on how CEDAR handles personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
